CH Adastra Dream of Dragons CD HSAs OA OAJ
Ceilidh, pronounced KAY-lee, is Gaelic for a gathering with music, dancing, and good conversation - in short, a party. Life with Ceilidh is nothing if not a party. She treats all events, whether new or old, as an adventure to be enjoyed to the utmost. She has boundless energy and an intelligence that is sometimes frightening to behold. Her natural ability to read and understand both human and animals is amazing - she always knows how or what is needed when meeting new dogs and people. This also means she excels at manipulating both.
In her short show career, her wins include:
While she was playing in the breed ring, she has also been working on her performance titles. Ceilidh has already earned her herding Pre-Trial title - one weekend - 2 tests - 2 legs. She continues to work on herding skills and will be seen in the Herding Started ring. With 2 and a half months of training, she earned her CD in 3 straight trials. She has continued on in obedience, earning 2 Open legs - hopefully that CDX will appear behind her name soon. Her speed in agility has been an obstacle for Bob to overcome. They earned their Novice Standard and Novice Jumpers with Weaves as well as 2 legs toward Open Standard and 2 in Open Jumpers. With her son coming up in the ranks, and Sally getting tired of the sidelines, Ceilidh is now running agility with her (while Mom walks!). Hopefully, those legs will come along also. More to come... All this makes her sound perfect - she’s not. But the flaws that she has are minor compared to her overall quality. In our plans for breedings, we will try to improve on her faults yet retain her sound temperament, structure and working ability. We believe her first litter accomplished all of that. In November of 2001, Ceilidh visited the handsome Ch Sunset Skywatch Supernova CDX HS NA (Quazar) in Kentucky. On January 28th she presented us with our Magic litter: 7 lovely puppies - 5 girls and 2 boys. Three of the pups have finished their Championships (two before the age of 1 year), with Group Placements, and 1 is waiting for that last major. They have also earned 2 Herding Started titles and one is a Certified Therapy Dog. Two of the girls have started families of their own: check the news page for more details. In July of 2004, Ceilidh visited CH Sky Acres Piper Aerostar - a visit which produced a "Six pack" of delightful baby boys. All have gorgeous mahogany color, clean movement, pretty heads and their mother's smarts (and a bit more willingness to please than their precocious mother). The one word that has been used to describe the personalities of these boys, by everyone who has met them, is "sweet". In fact, we have been so impressed with the boys that we're planning on repeating the breeding in the fall of 2005 - hoping to get a little girl this time. Breeder: Ann Jackson
